How to build with RASTRA®

THE EASIEST WAY TO BUILD, DO IT YOURSELF

When the foundation is finished, just start at a corner and place or stack the RASTRA
® elements. The large but lightweight panels can be handled without cranes. Simple tools cut, rasp, or drill the elements. Workability is easier than wood.

RASTRA® elements can be stacked horizontally, like blocks or vertically – this even saves you lifting the panels; just tilt them up, tack them with glue or clamp them for temporary support and once you have a wall section set up, bring it into plumb. Windows and doors can be simply cut out.

Use the elements in either direction in the way they will fit the building plan best. The cavities, which form the structural part once concrete has been grouted, always line up. Concrete is grouted after a complete story has been set up.

With the 2 types of RASTRA® elements – the standard and the end – any building detail can be realized.

IMAGINATION IS THE ONLY LIMIT!

Curved walls are built by beveling the flanks of the RASTRA® standard elements. Arches are pre-cut and concrete blocked off for grouting. The cut out elements will be taken out later and can be used somewhere else. Rounded edges, pillars, millwork can be made by simply cutting and rasping.

RASTRA® elements can be finished with a single layer of plaster or stucco, brick or stone veneers can be installed or siding attached. Tiles are glued directly onto the THASTYRON surface.

RASTRA Ceiling
RASTRA® works with all flooring systems.
RASTRA® end elements are used as stay
in place form work for insulated flat roofs
or ceilings. Roof and walls are poured
at the same time to form a monolithic structure.
